Whenever I hear something about South Africa, I always want to ask "but where in South Africa?" If you're unaware, the region at the southern most tip of Africa is called South Africa. The dotted line I drew is roughly the half point of Africa. In theory, everything above the line should be north Africa and everything south should be called south Africa. You so silly, Africa.
